at the thyme we have about 200 city-maintained datasets, but often times this data sets show our city departments in their best light. from my perspective we need datasets to improve upon imperfect situations to show where we can improve and where we can take risks and where we can be more entrepreneurial and hopefully leads to more effective government . so that end the legislation we're introduction today creates a chief data officer who is responsible for maintaining our city's focus on our open data policy. secondly, it requires city departments to designate data coordinators to work in conjunction with the officers. so again, every city department can be involved in moving forward an open data culture within san francisco. thirdly we need consistent standards in how data is presented both internally and externally. i look forward to moving forward these data policies that improve our city. i have a related legislation drafting request. yesterday when mayor lee and i along with our rec and park department announced the ladies and gentlemen of launch of an application to provide in

we have three projects here in the city. we have the harding park project and the reservoir and pump station that is used to pump water produced by daly city and we have the next water project and produce 1.6 million-gallons of recycled water for golden gate park and presidio park and the golf course and we have a project to deliver 2 million-gallons a day of recycled water. so again just to circle back as to why we're doing recycled water. recycled water lets us devote drinking water for the highest purpose which is drinking, and using recycled water for irrigation and toilet flushing just makes sense . the city of san francisco is devoted to this project and began in 1991 with the recycling ordinance and had large developments have this type of pipe for this. it was endorsed again in 2009 with the park amendments which called for maximizing water use efficiency and using non portable water on park properties. recycled water is reliable and drowft proof and we believe it's an investment in the city's future. the recycled wa

i do think things are changing at city hall and with city government generally. in the last budget process, we read able to get a full-time person in the office of economic and workforce development who will focus exclusively on nightlife and entertainment. that is a huge step with the positives of the industry. i would have worked very closely with supervisor chiu to get a budget for the entertainment commission. at times, the entertainment commission has been set up to fail because we expect all sorts of enforcement and make sure that people are cracking down on the rules, but we have not committed the resources necessary to do so. we are slowly doing that to make sure that they can meet their mission. and the of all special use district that i mentioned before, i think we lost -- we will finally start seeing some reform there. we have a lot more work to do. i recently asked the economist to supplement the impact study for the night live with a similar study for outdoor fairs and festivals, which we know contribute mightily to our economy. i'm very committed to
